No Room for Racism
Would you take the knee with me?
Would you speak out in my defence,
Screaming that there is no room for racism?
Would you take the knee with me
As a symbolism of equality?
Would you speak out in my defence,
That Black Lives Matter?
Would you take the knee with me
And stand as an equal with me?
Empathy
Let empathy thrive;
Let it rain more than a bucketful,
That we might bask in its essence.
Let empathy reign
With springing roots
Before we are dealt a crushing blow by its lack.
Let empathy rain—
Rain on us;
That we might breathe new life.
